Hi, I’m Mariko, the founder of Aha! Tokyo.
As a licensed English-speaking tour guide, I’m passionate about sharing Tokyo’s hidden beauty with curious travelers.
I’ve been living in Tokyo since I was 11 years old, and have always loved exploring its lesser-known gems—places that even many locals overlook.
With over 20 years of experience working in Japanese, German, and American global companies — including an overseas assignment in Germany — I’m comfortable communicating in English.
Whenever I met travelers during cherry blossom season or local festivals, I found myself happily sharing tips on places that would make their trip truly unforgettable.
At the same time, I felt it was such a shame that so many wonderful places remained unknown to visitors.
That’s why I decided to study and become a nationally certified tour guide. Now, I offer guided experiences that go beyond the typical tourist path and into the heart of Tokyo’s culture, seasons, and everyday magic.

東京の“知られざる魅力”を世界に伝える英語ガイドをしております。
11歳から東京で暮らし、地元の人でも見落としがちな場所や季節の風景を探して歩くのが大好きでした。
20年以上日系・ドイツ系・アメリカ系の外資系企業で働いた経験とドイツ赴任の経験があり、日本語はもちろんですが英語でのコミュニケーションにも慣れています。
桜の季節や地域のお祭りなどで外国人旅行者と出会うたびに、「〇〇を訪れればきっと感動していただける」とおすすめスポットを紹介していました。
でも、そうした素晴らしい場所はあまり知られていないのです。
そのもどかしさをバネに通訳案内士の資格を取得し、プロのツアーガイドとして活動を始めました。
